Greek culture has made a lasting impact on the world since ancient times – from the alphabet to spoken words, economics to politics, philosophy to religion, law to medicine, and even architecture. Wherever you look, Hellenic culture still influences the modern world.
Plato, Socrates, Alexander the Great, the Spartans… What a lively heritage! Greek was the principle language of the civilized world until the Fall of Constantinople in 1453. Today, it is still spoken by more than 13 million people worldwide.
