PARISH INFORMATION
YOUTH MINISTRIES- SUNDAY SCHOOL, ACOLYTES, JOY, GOYA, & GREEK SCHOOL
One of the most important goals of this parish is to foster the ongoing spiritual growth of our youth and young adults, and work toward their continual integration into the life and ministry of the Orthodox church. If your heart is telling you to get involved somehow but you do not know what to do -- call Father Demetri for advice and guidence. The very future of Holy Trinity is our children!
SUNDAY SCHOOL - The mission and goal is to lead our young people into experiencing the Holy Orthodox Faith. By laying a foundation of faith at this age, the young people will have something that will guide and strengthen them as they progress into junior high and high school.
Time: 11:45-12:30 for 3rd to 12th grade
ACOLYTES - All young men, ages 7 and above are invited to serve God in the altar and assist Father during Liturgical services. Acolytes are divided into groups which rotate for serving at the altar each Sunday. Please contact the church office if you would like to serve God in the altar and assist Father.
GREEK SCHOOL - Ta Paidakia (“The Children”) is the Greek school for all the children of Holy Trinity (ages 3-12). Our goal is to educate our children in conversational Greek and instill in them an understanding of the Greek heritage with an emphasis on hymns, prayers and culture.
Junior Orthodox Youth, JOY - consists of youth in grades 2-6. We meet once a month to learn the lessons of our Orthodox faith and about our community. We do projects and have outings usually to places suggested by the children. Finally, and very importantly, we have fun.
The Greek Orthodox Youth of America, or GOYA, is the ministry to teenagers, junior high and high school students, in grades 7-12 of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. They meet once a month for an Orthodox lesson, followed by a short business meeting to plan service projects or social events for our GOYANS. Our GOYAN's demonstrate their active involvement in the Church community by volunteering to do such things as decorate, set up, serve, and host many events.
